November 25, 2013:

As of Sunday, Nov. 24, residents can no longer access their units at Georgetown Common. We have been working with and complying with city and federal officials, and it is clear that the buildings are unsafe and continue to deteriorate due to wet weather, and we simply cannot risk lives.

We have been on-site all week and have been working tirelessly to help our residents recover from this devastating tragedy. We are confident that 98% of our residents have had the opportunity to get to their units and recover their belongings to the extent possible.

Please note: We will allow insurance adjusters who sign in at the property with our staff to stay on hard surfaces Monday and Tuesday from 9am-4pm and Wednesday from 9am-3pm for adjustments. Additionally, we are requesting that all residents with cars still on site have them removed or towed by Wednesday morning at the latest.

Georgetown would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the recovery effort, including the City of Washington, the Washington Police department, the fire departments, the Peoria police department, the Salvation Army, and all the dozens of volunteers known and unknown who have aided our residents over the last week. For more information, please call Amanda at 309-444-9581.

November 21, 2013:

To Our Residents:

We understand how traumatic it has been to be displaced from your home as a result of the tornadoes that hit our community on Nov. 17. Many of you have asked when you can return to Georgetown to take pictures and retrieve personal belongings. The Washington City Administrator and Police Department is in control of the property and has blocked ALL access (including the owner) due to the safety hazards that exist. The City plans to have the structural stability of each building assessed in the coming days. The City will not return possession of the complex to Georgetown management until they've determined it is safe for all of us to return to the property.  Unfortunately, we do not know when that process will be completed.

As we receive more information, we will post updates on our website and Facebook page. If you have a car on the property and it is retrievable, the police will escort you to your car. If you have any other specific questions, you can reach our assistant manager, Tara, at (309) 397-1867
